Alexander Street Video Online (AVON) has theatre pieces, Shakespearean plays, BBC adaptations, PBS shows, and documentaries. You can search the entire site using the search bar in the top right or drill down into specific Collections using the dropdown in the top left.
There are two collections types Film, which includes Academic Video Online Premium and BBC Literary Adaptations, and Theatre, which includes the National Theatre Collection, the Royal Shakespeare Company Collection, and Theatre Performance Video. The two collection types look a little different.
Once you find a film, you will want to Share it. To do that click on the Share button in the top bar:
Then, click "Copy Permalink":
Then, click the top "Copy". Now, you will have a shareable link that you can paste in email or Haiku!
If you are using a Theatre Collection, they have formats in addition to video such as teacher packs, stills from behind the scenes, costume design sheets, etc. You are welcome to use these formats as well.
If you see the film you are looking for great, if not then on the left you can click “Format” then “Video” to return only video recordings:

Once you have found the performance you need, then you can get the link for your students by clicking “Embed/Link” under the video window.
Highlight and copy the link at the top of the new window. Once you have the link copied, then you can share it through email or Haiku.
