Books, articles, images, websites, and other resources exploring the world of art history.

Evaluating Web Content

We need to be careful when searching online.  An acronym to help you decide whether or not to use a website for a project or paper that you may find easy to remember is something called the CRAAP test.

  • C - Currency. How old is it? Can you find a date of publication?
  • R - Relevance. The importance of the information for your needs.
  • A - Authority. Is it legitimate? Examine the source of the information.
  • A - Accuracy. The reliability, truthfulness, and correctness of the information.
  • P - Purpose. Who gets the benefits? The reason the information exists.
